Yes we read poetry. No we do not write Poetry.

New members are welcome.

We meet monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at 1pm at Bradbury House for about an hour and a half.

For each meeting we have a theme agreed at the end of the previous meeting, so that we have a month in which to find appropriate poems. On the day we take it in turn going round the table reading one of our chosen poems.

The theme is always capable of a wide meaning, and invariably members consider it from different angles producing a very varied and interesting meeting. Inevitably a discussion arises as to the meaning or background of a poem, enabling us to learn in the true U3A manner.
